It was in 1974 when a group of teachers founded the Juan Ramón Jiménez School. In the first academic year (1974–75), classes were taught in Pre-school, Primary Education from Year 1 to Year 8 of EGB, and Adult School Leaving Certificate, with an approximate enrolment of 300 pupils.
In 1982, the Cooperative Society was established with 19 founding members. In 2003, the old building was renovated and the new one completed, thus expanding the educational provision to include Early Years, Primary and Secondary Education, as well as increasing the number of cooperative members.
OUR EDUCATIONAL PROJECT DEFINES US
Based on the promotion of the three fundamental pillars in pupils’ education.
- Pupils are at the heart of our educational project.
- Teachers are the guides of pupils in their learning process.
- Families are key partners in the education of their children.
Living together is a path of joy and fun
The fundamental mission of the school is to shape individuals who are capable of taking responsibility for their actions, making decisions about their lives, and contributing through their efforts to the progress and improvement of the democratic, open, and pluralistic society in which they will live. It is therefore essential that our pupils respect the school’s rules, respect their teachers, and respect one another.
This mission is impossible to achieve unless it develops within a climate of coexistence, where collaboration among all members of the educational community (both teaching and non-teaching staff) is the general standard of behaviour.
